Les petits mondes sont partout (The Little Worlds Are Everywhere) Maple Syrup is dripping Down the white velvet walls And the milkman is sipping On a telephone call The big dipper is hanging On the nose of this town A music stand on the sidewalk Is makin’ out with the ground And oh… Les petits mondes sont partout Zipper talks to the Velcro “Hey man, we’re kind of alike We both have lots of little arms that Wrap around each other tight” And now the starfish is kissing All the rocks in its sight The pepper trees keep on singing To the salt of the night And oh… Les petits mondes sont partout Mushrooms growing in her head It’s a dark and humid bed Oh they’re filled with nutrients Button caps and past laments Button caps and new intent And oh… Les petits mondes sont partout

Country in the City There's nothin' better Then a zydeco band Playin' that music Dance as hard as I can You got that quick feet beat We could take it to the street Jumpin' jambalaya for the soul You’re such a treat And there's nothin' better Than that indie folk man Playin' that music Slow cookin' in a pan It's just a sweet sweet tune Simple summer days in June Each breath has so much room Country in The City Glamorous and gritty Everyone is pretty Oh as you can be Starlight is upside down Shining from the concrete ground But it's just a quaint hometown When you’re playin' these tunes And there's nothin' better Than that Honky Tonk band Playin' that music Unh, I feel you guitar man I wanna rock your roll Wanna take you on a stroll I'm right back in high school Play it for me guitar man! Country in The City Glamorous and gritty Everyone is pretty Oh as you can be Starlight is upside down Shining from the concrete ground But it's just a quaint hometown When you’re playin' these tunes

Hurricane Eye In the dog house once again Though I try hard as I can Fumbling through each new day And though I’m sorry through and through Took my darkness out on you Sometimes we learn by fuckin’ up Cause there’s an octopus inside Made of all the tears I’ve cried And its eyes are baby blue And I’m teaching it to swim Instead of suctioning to him And I see one thing to do Oh when those feeling start to fly Gonna stay right here in the hurricane’s eye Big teeth swirling all around But I’m right here, breathing From this soft tongue ground From this dog house I can see All the past so vibrantly Technicolor lazor show And though I never mean to harm There’s that creature with eight arms Trippin’ up integrity Now I ain’t trying to make excuse I wanna ride the truth Caboose No matter what the price But I can’t keep writing you songs Even I have to move on Not that you care either way Oh when those feeling start to fly Gonna stay right here in the hurricane’s eye Big teeth swirling all around But I’m right here, breathing From this soft tongue ground

Tumbleweed 03:20
Tumbleweed Tired of feeling lonely Tired of trying so hard to be All that I think I should be This is my face, it has its grace This is the song that lingers on This is the time to drink green ocean wine Tired of feeling tired Always pushing so hard to see Everything instantly I’ll take a rest in the sand And dream about holding your hand There is a smile in these warm salty tears Oh Tumbleweed Tumbled to the sea California, you sweet home to me Oh Tumbleweed Floating weightlessly California, you sweet home to me Sweet home to me Tired of feeling lonely Tired of trying so hard to be All that I think I should be This is my face, it has its grace This is the song that lingers on This is the time to drink green ocean wine Oh Tumbleweed Tumbled to the sea California, you sweet home to me Oh Tumbleweed Floating weightlessly California, you sweet home to me Sweet home to me

A Calm Sun 03:25
A Calm Sun We think happiness is out on the horizon That next job, that next love, that new stuff Oh pedal to the metal Let’s drive this thing fast as we can To puddles on the highway Lovers of life we are everywhere Just sometimes we hide behind thick thick blue bangs of hair Made of woven worries Made of silken stories Puddles on the highway Oh love from the mind is like a sand dollar It’s rough and you owe me so much Oh love from the heart is like It’s like a calm, calm sun Peace you are coating everything And it’s you that I rest with when I do my attention bring To that rise and fall Oh silence holding it all Puddles on the highway Oh love from the mind is like a sand dollar It’s rough and you owe me so much Oh love from the heart is like It’s like a calm, calm sun
6.
Blown Away 03:18
Blown Away Blown Away, Blown Away I will love you forever and a day Love you like a snake bite on my tongue Love you like a monkey with two thumbs Love you when the moon glow comes undone Splashes on the mountain like a big blue sun Love you when I can’t see you at all Only in my dreams where you’re much too tall Oh you been haunting me so long Like a rusty song Blown Away, Blown Away Oh I had to leave us Go on and find my way Find a way to love my paper self Wake up on a dusty plywood shelf Hold my hand through sickness and in health Offer to The Elephant all my wealth So I made a brand new steering wheel Stuck it to the side of a pedal steel Yeah I’m gonna trust The Great Unfold Singing songs that mold Oh…Blown Away Blown Away, Blown Away I will love you forever and a day
7.
The Universe 03:34
The Universe There will be a brighter day Darkness comes but doesn’t stay Hold your hand on heart this way Love will be your guide Somehow it has come to this Heart is shattered into bits Lying in a bed of fear Still the love is here The universe is kind I know There’s something that she’s trying to show And when the mind is shivering Oh it brings me home when I start to sing Hypnotized by other’s lives Spinning, waxen apple pies Come back to my own sweet life All I need is here Ocean slamming onto sand Foaming frothing mixed with land Somehow it is all so grand All I need is here The Universe is kind I know There’s something that she’s trying to show And when I am so lost at sea Oh I bring me home with a melody Turning to the swirling clouds Speaking to them right out loud Oh you sweet confused child Love will be your guide Somehow it has come to this Heart is full of peacefulness Lying in a bed of bliss All I need is here The Universe is kind I know There’s something that she’s trying to show And when the mind is shivering Oh it brings me home when I start to sing

Love is a Verb I was very young when you caught my eye We would sit and talk late into the night Oh Amazing Grace echoing into that space And you showed me worlds that I never knew Sweet gardenia sings all those lady blues I fell deep in love, Who’s the hand, who’s the glove? Oh…Love is a Verb We had big ol’ dreams to play in small cafes Me on saxophone you on all the ways That we could explore what is on the 13th floor And we live it up, join a big parade Travel cobblestones, singin’ on the stage What a lucky girl But her toes do not uncurl Oh…Love is a Verb And the years roll by, I transmogrify From the grasshopper to the task master Now I needed you, bring the bread and be my glue And it got too dark, maybe we don’t work I’ll just move along, it’s just a silly song So I said goodbye I’ll give other things a try Oh…Love is a Verb Then one day you came knockin’ on my door Perfect melody plopped right on the floor Oh I had to laugh, I felt like a bubble bath So you’re not just mean That’s the rhythm of The Love Machine Cook me till I’m soft, show me where I’m off You’re my teacher true You’re a mirror, I’m the stew Oh…Love is a Verb

The Chocolate Tree Can’t tell if I’ve done somethin’ bad Just kinda looks like the dirt is mad My minds’ gone weak and thin And the lilacs they don’t smell like a thing Oh hole in my heart, what do you need? I’m right here listening We both know life is bittersweet Come on let’s dance up in this chocolate tree Get up and put your halo on Fasten it nice and tight But all you really wanna do is hang out your window Smokin’ cigarettes and drinkin’ all night Oh come on by the tracks later on We can talk about what’s goin’ on Got my money on an old dapple grey She taught me how to sing and how to pray Oh now hole in my heart, what do you need? I’m right here listening We both know life is bittersweet Come on let’s dance up in this chocolate tree I know you’re hurting real bad Just a junkie for the moonlight Gone and tasted things that you can’t have This old helicopter’s got to take flight Oh come on by the tracks later on We can talk about what’s goin’ on Got my money on an old dapple grey She taught me how to sing and how to pray

Wherever I Go Sparkles on the river Shimmering on by I may long for you so But I still have to go To the city where I am called Pines upon the mountain No one else for miles In the hustle I hear How I long for you dear But I know still down inside Home You’re always right here Wherever I roam Sky above and the ground below Wherever I go Barrel-chested robin Pullin’ worms from the dirt Such a wriggling treat Beside the taxi-filled streets No it ain’t only asphalt here Pink plump blossoms Just across from my room When I look out at you It’s my heart that’s in bloom And the siren’s keep screechin’ on Home You’re always right here Wherever I roam Sky above and the ground below Wherever I go

Old Fisherman’s Song Won’t you come be with me I’m waiting by the sea Sunset is on its way Come on let’s play It is so lovely here Everything sounds so clear I’ll be the ship, you steer this song Carry on Like an old fisherman at dawn Cast your line Into that silver moonshine Carry on I’ll be your lover’s welcome arms Throw your hook Covered in blueberries and books La dee dah dee dee dee Sing all the seaweed Lo dee doh doh doh doh The rocks bellow Carry on Like an old fisherman at dawn Cast your line Into that silver moonshine Carry on I’ll be your lover’s welcome arms Throw your hook Covered in blueberries and books Up on the hill we see Stars in the sky and sea Sunset is long past gone This here’s our song

A Face in the Mountain There’s a face in the mountain behind my home And when heartache ‘s a callin’ upon her cheeks I roam There’s a cottonwood snowstorm swirling outside And I’ve learned that’s where the twinkle in my eye likes to hide Skinny raindrops a fallin’ behind these walls You’re in love with us darlin’ each pitter patter calls River trout you’re a dyin’ before my eyes I can feel you and then just a lump of earth there lies Shiny black ocean waters black open skies Where you meet there’s just nothing it swallows me inside
